Inside the Porsche Museum in Zuffenhausen: US prime beef steaks, Mediterranean-international cooking and a view down over Porscheplatz.
The kitchen: steaks and a menu you assemble yourself
The Christophorus is the restaurant inside the Porsche Museum, and it cooks Mediterranean-international. The signature of the house is steak cut from US prime beef, which for American visitors is a familiar starting point in an otherwise very German city.
In the evening there is a nine-course menu with one genuinely pleasant quirk: every course can be chosen and combined freely, so the tasting menu is yours to build rather than the kitchen's to dictate. The wine list runs to roughly 800 entries.
Chef since 2024: Fabian Seher
Fabian Seher has led the kitchen since the end of September 2024. He is not an outside hire: he has been in the house since 2011, most recently as sous-chef, with earlier stops at the Hotel Schassberger, the Walserhof in Klosters and the Fletschhorn in Saas-Fee. His team numbers eight cooks.
His predecessor Thomas Heilemann shaped the Christophorus as head chef for 15 years and has stayed with the house as culinary director.
Practical details
The Christophorus appears in the Michelin Guide, but as a recommendation rather than with a star. If you want to combine the museum and a meal, book the table in advance, because that pairing is popular. Museum and restaurant share the same address on Porscheplatz in Zuffenhausen, the district where Porsche has been building cars since 1938, not downtown.
