Stuttgart's festival calendar.
Two Stuttgart events are worth building a trip around. The Christmas market, first recorded in 1692, takes over four downtown squares from late November to December 23. The Cannstatter Volksfest, the world's second-largest folk festival after Munich's Oktoberfest, fills the Wasen fairgrounds for 17 days from late September. Both are free to walk into.
